Charleston FFL Transfers is owned and operated by Trey McLaughlin, a native Charlestonian. Trey started the business in 2021 to offer something the Lowcountry was missing: private, by-appointment firearm transfers without the lines, pressure, or hassle of a big-box counter.
Charleston FFL Transfers has been a federally licensed firearms dealer and Special Occupational Taxpayer (Class III) since 2021, which means we’re licensed to handle NFA items, including machine guns. Every transfer is handled personally by Trey, one-on-one, at our office on Wappoo Creek Drive.
Trey is a lifelong sportsman and hunter, a member of the Palmetto Gun Club, and has a particular interest in World War II history and firearms. Today he also helps executors, families, and estate attorneys handle firearms when settling an estate.
